  • Come here for late lunch, ordered chicken rendang nasi lemak and roti jala with curry chicken. The Rendang chicken tastes great, nasi lemak are so fragrant. For curry chicken I can give 8/10, only potatoes not really well cooked. Overall it’s above average.

  • Recommend to make reservations for Sundays and public holidays to beat the long waiting list. We were there for Merdeka lunch, and so many people were already waiting outside. Really appreciate the personable and prompt service. We ordered nasi lemak rendang, nasi rendang, and roti jala. The gravy was loaded with quality spices and ingredients. The mee nyonya is similar to hailam noodles style except that they use rojak sauce in the gravy. Finally, we loved the black glutinous rice dessert, warm, soft and rich. We also had the famous cendol. Although the serving was small, the green cendol was soft and fresh, and they use good quality gula melaka, which made all the difference!

  • The Pai Ti were gossamer thin holding a savory jicama stuffing paired with the customary sour chili sauce that made each bite the perfect appetizer. The shells were perfectly crafted as I know how laborious it is to create them especially with the wide brim rarely seen these days. The Laksa was full of spice flavor tempered by a not too thick coconut milk broth paired with the usual ingredients of prawns, fishballs, tofu puff, and boiled egg. The customary cucumber and sliced daum kesum were present that added the textural and herbal elements found in an authentic Melaka version. The Ikan Masak Chili Garam reminded me of my grandmother's fried fish with a similar chili rempah carrying a tinge of sourness and belacan. The accompanying Chap Chai was a revelation with the use of ginger that lifted the usual flavors. The key to a good Cendol is the noodles that should be well perfumed with pandan and possess the right springy texture which were present in this version. The coconut milk and gula melaka were the right consistency for the perfectly balanced slurp. I brought home a few kuehs for later. Judging by the colors and detail, I can tell that they are "senonoh" and possessing care and attention. I'm looking forward to tasting them when my full stomach can find room. The place filled up quickly with customers. There is no doubt that this popular place is a hit with many, and deservedly so.

  • One of the better truly authentic Melaka Peranakan cafés in KL! Tables aren't many and only 2 longer ones can stay a large group. Service is pleasant, friendly and attentive. Decor is neat and clean, though could have more Peranakan feel to it. Beautiful garden at the back! The Nyonya laksa lemak is creamy delicious and flavourful, without making you feel thirsty afterwards. The chendol is Melaka style and kuih are amazingly soft. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

  • Ordered the Nyonya laksa, Kari Ayam roti Kala and a few kueh to try. Taste wise the food in general is heavy on the coconut milk compared to removable. Portion wise the laksa was huge and couldn’t manage to finish it. The roti jala was very soft, softer than I’m used to while the kari ayam was really good since you can taste the rempah. For the kuehs we tried the ang ku kueh and also the ondeh ondeh, the kueh skins were firmer than I’m used to. If I visit again, would get the kari Ayam and ondeh ondeh again. The rest of the dishes were not tastes that I’m used to. Came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, around 12.30pm. The restaurant was packed but still able to get seats. Parking around the area is challenging during lunch time so pro tip is to park at the Giant opposite.

  • This joint now is probably the “the place” for me if I am craving for food Nyonya food. They serve amazingly flavourful rendang ayam, rich Nyonya laksa lemak, and tasty curry ayam for Roti Jala, and their Nyonya kuih and tongshui (esp pulot hitam) and cendol Nyonya are also topnotch…! Highly recommended
